October 29th, 2009 by Foxopoly Underneath A Northern SkyAlaska hometown heroes, 36 Crazyfists, have finally released their first live dvd courtesy of Ferret Records. Much credit to their label because this effort probably would not have never been possible under the bands previous label, Roadrunner. The DVD consists of a live show (Anchorage, January at the Danaina Convention Center) interspersed with old and new footage of the band. The quality of the dvd is as good as I’ve seen as far as how the bands story is told in between performances from the bands hometown show. Kudos to Todd Bell who filmed and edited the feature- truely a stellar job. Coincidently Todd also did put together the amazing Roadrunner United DVD that came packed with that compilation a few years back. If you’re a fan of 36 or unfamiliar check out this amazing story of one of Alaska’s only true music success stories. Available at all the usual big box stores or online. I preordered, but could not wait for it to ship. Instead picked up one of only a few copies they had at the South Anchorage Best Buy. Too bad there wasn’t a display or something as I’m sure there were many more people interested or just unaware that it was even available.
