Ben Weasel – “The Brain that Wouldn’t Die” One of my favorite punk bands reunites to record a live version of one of their best albums.

Black Moth Super Rainbow – “Eating Us” Insane live percussion helped boost this great psychedelic work.

Neon Indian – “Psychic Chasms” Laptop genius channels Cut Copy dropping acid and creates ‘chillwave’.

Passion Pit – “Manners” Incredible falsetto pop LP.

Telefon Tel Aviv – “Immolate Yourself” The most beautiful LP of the year. Incredible downbeat music with chilled vocals.

Telekinesis! – “S/T” Super-catchy Chris Walla produced indie rock LP from this new Seattle band.

The XX – “S/T” Boy-girl indie pop spiced up with minimal electronica.

We Were Promised Jetpacks -”These Four Walls” Very young new scottish band puts together dynamic LP and live show.

Japandroids – “Post Nothing” Vancouver two-piece record memorable grungey LP reminiscent of Lync and early 90’s emo.

Morrissey – “Years of Refusal” Supposedly panned by hardcore fans, but his most memorable and accessible songs in a long time in my opinion.

Royksöpp – “Junior” The Norweigan duo make another killer dance album with great guest vocalists like Robyn and Fever Ray.
