Field Music New Single Streaming and Upcoming LP Plumb

The experimental British pop band has a new LP out early next year.

Click below to stream or download the single for an email address.  It sounds like a great return to form for them after a disappointing last album.

New Music on Spotify

Spotify currently has the best database of music.  Unfortunately, the application is very minimal, which makes it hard to find new music beyond pop.

There are many websites and tools extending Spotify.  I know it integrates into the Logitech Squeezebox, Sonos and a growing list of network media devices.  I am going to try running it on Windows Media Center using Songler.

Here are a few of my favorite tools so far:

Spotimy – In addition to making it easy to see and access the newest releases, they aggregate reviews on 22 websites and make quick access to the best reviewed music, compiling it into digests.  Occasionally an album will have a delayed release in a country.  In this case, Spotimy can update you when the albums become available to you.

Metafy – This IOS app links the great review aggregator Metacritic into Spotify for quick access to albums and their review scores on your iPhone/iPad. Thanks, Lifehacker, for introducing me to this app.

I hope Spotify releases an API for Android users out there so developers can migrate and innovate over there as well.
